Principal's Welcome Message
Hello and welcome to the St. David Catholic School website.
We hope that it helps you learn a little bit about our school, our school community and our motto: "Together We Grow In Faith and Knowledge".
St. David Catholic School is located in the heart of the east end of Hamilton. We have a diverse school community with a number of ethnic cultures. Our school offers Special Education, Reading Recovery, E.S.L. programs, a library information centre and a computer lab to help support a wide range of curriculum expectations. An incredibly dedicated staff works hard to help our students grow spiritually, academically and socially. We strive to meet the needs of all our children and give of our time to provide many extra-curricular activities during recesses, lunch hours and after school.
Our school Catholic school community is truly blessed to have a very active parish presence in our school. Father Peter and Father Charlie from St. Eugene's Catholic Church and Incarnation of Our Lord Church are regular visitors in the classroom, celebrate masses and liturgies and they offer a strong support to religious and sacramental programs.
St. David School enjoys a wonderful, supportive partnership with our Catholic School Council working together to achieve our common goals. Parents serve on committees and assist with such activities as special lunch days, CYO sports, fundraising and curriculum partnerships. An Ontario Early Years Centre and Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic Child Care Centre are attached to the school and we work well in partnership and co-operation to serve the community.
St. David School prides itself in its promotion of building a community among all the stakeholders. On a daily basis students are presented with opportunities to grow spiritually, academically, physically and socially. We are very proud of their achievements as we continue to strive for excellence and success to be a faith-filled witness of Christ.
The staff at St. David is always working hard to better identify our priorities in the various areas so that we can work to meet our goal of excellence in literacy and numeracy as well as the promotion of team building and assessments. We will continue to use data to inform our decision making and develop our Catholic Professional Learning Communities as we continually work to improve student performance.
May God bless you in all that you do.
Mrs. V. Geromella
