About Our School

This site will provide parents/guardians, students, and teachers with information regarding our school, our community and our parishes. You are encouraged to look at the newsletter, calendar and Catholic School Council minutes updated monthly.

A deep sense of spirituality exists within our school. St. David School is blessed to have partnerships with faith-filled leaders working with our school community: Father Joseph (Pastor of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish), along with the Catholic Youth Group. They support and enhance the religious and Sacramental components within our school. Please view the calendar for dates of monthly, special liturgical and Sacramental masses. Prayer is an integral part of our day and is critical to our school motto: Together we grow in faith and knowledge.

The St. David staff, along with our Superintendent, Ms. J. Angiolillo, Principal Mr. Agro, and Vice-Principal Mr. Tersigni, is a group of highly dedicated people who nurture and fostering growth in the spiritual, academic and emotional well-being of all of our students. We embrace the HWCDSB philosophy of "Each Belongs". As educators, we pride ourselves on high standards of achievement and work on continuous improvement towards excellence, while embracing the "Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would to yourself."

Saint David

Saint David (Welsh: Dewi Sant, Latin: Davidus; c. 500 – c. 589) was a Welsh bishop of Mynyw (now St Davids) during the 6th century; he was later regarded as a saint. He is the patron saint of Wales. David was a native of Wales, and a relatively large amount of information is known about his life. However, his birth date is uncertain: suggestions range from 462 to 512.[1] He is traditionally believed to be the son of Saint Non and the grandson of Ceredig ap Cunedda, king of Ceredigion.[2] The Welsh annals placed his death 569 years after the birth of Christ,[3] but Phillimore's dating revised this to 601.[4]

St David's Day is celebrated in Wales on 1 March, in honour of St David (Dewi Sant), the patron saint of Wales. St David (Dewi Sant was a Celtic monk, abbot and bishop, who lived in the sixth century. He spread the word of Christianity across Wales. The most famous story about Saint David tells how he was preaching to a huge crowd and the ground is said to have risen up, so that he was standing on a hill and everyone had a better chance of hearing him.

which helped to spread Christianity;
We give thanks for your purity and simplicity of life
which teaches us to be good Christians;
We give thanks for your gentleness and love.
Grant that we may learn from you
to "be steadfast, and to do the little things’.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
